Bid & Proposal Manager (m/f/d)

As a Bid & Proposal Manager, you will be part of our growing Bid & Proposal Management Center of Excellence, supporting Quantum Systems entities and teams globally. Quantum Systems is a multi-domain system house for unmanned technologies across air, land, sea and space. As we pursue ambitious growth targets, the complexity of identifying opportunities, qualifying tenders, developing competitive proposals and managing bids across markets, entities and domains continues to increase.

Together with a team of currently seven colleagues in Germany, you will help shape and scale our global Bid & Proposal Management approach. This includes leading complex international bids and working closely with Sales, Solution, Product, Finance and other stakeholders. At the same time, you will help improve the way we work through global standards, reusable content, digital workflows, automation and data-driven performance management.

This role goes beyond managing individual bids and proposals. You will work at the intersection of customers, markets, technology and commercial strategy, helping to turn opportunities into competitive solutions and ultimately into business. You will not only coordinate bids but actively help shape how our products and solutions are positioned in new and existing markets. Together with the subject matter experts, you will translate customer requirements into product/solution concepts and continuously improve how we approach complex opportunities.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Own the full Bid Lifecycle
• Capture new opportunities through tender platforms, RFI/RFP monitoring and active market screening.
• Qualify opportunities based on strategic fit, complexity, technical feasibility, commercial potential, risks and resources.
• Lead complex international bids from initial strategy through final submission. Understand the customer’s operational and technical requirements, work with our experts to shape the best-fit solution and define how Quantum Systems can create a clear advantage over competing approaches. Develop the bid strategy, key differentiators and value proposition, and translate them into a compliant, technically convincing and commercially sound proposal.
• Influence product and market strategy
• Translate bid, customer and market insights into input for product and solution development, identifying recurring requirements, capability gaps and emerging market needs.
• Support product positioning, market entry and business cases by combining customer demand, competitive intelligence and commercial potential.
• Identify strategic opportunities beyond the immediate tender, including new use cases, markets, partnerships and solution concepts, and feed relevant insights into future go-to-market and bid strategies.
• Build and scale global Bid & Proposal Management
• Establish and continuously improve global standards for processes, governance, templates, content libraries and best practices.
• Build smarter and scalable ways of working through digital workflows, automation, data structures and global collaboration models.
• Drive performance transparency through KPIs, analytics and actionable recommendations for senior management.
• Develop the global Bid & Proposal operating model, continuously improving how teams, tools, content and governance work together across entities.

What you bring to the team:

• Background & experience : You bring a degree in engineering, business, economics or a comparable field, or equivalent professional experience, combined with a proven track record in Bid & Proposal Management, sales, business development or a similar role in a complex technical environment, including complex B2G and B2B tender processes.
• Communication & project leadership: You communicate clearly, align diverse stakeholders and drive decisions with confidence and constructive assertiveness. You stay structured and keep complex, cross-functional projects moving.
• Technical expertise: You have a genuine interest in complex technologies and the ambition to understand products, systems, operational use cases and customer requirements in depth.
• Commercial expertise : You are confident working with pricing, cost structures, financial calculations, business cases, commercial assumptions and risks.
• German & English proficiency: You communicate fluently in German and English. Strong German skills are essential, as a significant share of our tenders, procurement documents and customer requirements are issued in German or require German-language coordination.
• Builder mindset & strategic ownership: You take responsibility, challenge existing approaches and turn ideas into scalable solutions. You connect the bigger picture with attention to detail, use data and market insights to guide decisions, and keep things moving even when structures or requirements are still evolving.
