Safety Officer

We are looking for a Safety Officer to support the safe day-to-day operation of our facilities, workshops, test areas, construction activities, and wider company operations.

This is a practical, site-focused role for someone who is comfortable working directly with employees, contractors, engineers, technicians, and visitors. You will help ensure that safety procedures are followed in practice, risks are identified early, and the company maintains a strong and consistent safety culture.

Fluent German and experience working with German authorities are essential.

About us

We’re a Germany-based rocketry startup currently in stealth mode, scaling up rapidly to meet the demand for high-performance, reliable, and scalable solid propulsion technologies for space and defense applications.

We are already launching suborbital and ballistic rockets on a regular basis, have just crossed €10m in revenue for our first operating year and are applying our knowledge toward the development of an orbital rocket.

We are working hard to build something truly spectacular.

To thrive here you will need to be comfortable working at pace, with the autonomy to make decisions and execute on them quickly. If you’re excited by hard technical challenges and want a role where you will make a real difference each day to the future of the company, we may be the place for you.

At our company, job titles and career progression are earned, not determined by years of experience alone. They reflect the responsibility you take on and the dedication you bring to each project. If you’re ready to rise to the challenge, we’d love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular site inspections, safety walks, toolbox talks, and operational safety checks.
• Support the implementation of safe working procedures, permits, PPE requirements, signage, and access controls.
• Monitor the work of contractors, technicians, and operational teams, raising and helping resolve unsafe conditions.
• Support emergency preparedness, drills, incident response, near-miss reporting, and corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training records, action trackers, and compliance documentation.
• Liaise with German authorities, inspectors, emergency services, and external safety partners when required.

What we are looking for

• Experience in a safety officer, site safety, HSE, workshop safety, construction safety, or similar operational role.
• Experience working in an industrial, technical, construction, manufacturing, aerospace, or high-risk environment.
• Fluent German and proven experience communicating with German authorities, inspectors, contractors, or regulatory bodies.
• A practical understanding of workplace hazards, risk controls, safe systems of work, and incident reporting.
• A confident and approachable communication style, with the ability to influence behaviour at every level.
• A hands-on, organised, and highly visible approach to supporting safe day-to-day operations.

Desirable experience

• Aerospace, space, rocketry, propulsion, manufacturing, construction, testing, or hazardous-process environments.
• Chemical handling, explosives, energetic materials, pressure systems, machinery, lifting operations, or electrical safety.
• Experience supporting emergency response, fire safety, first aid, drills, or evacuation planning.
• Experience delivering toolbox talks, safety inductions, contractor briefings, or operational training.
• Relevant health and safety, occupational safety, fire safety, or environmental qualification.

Benefits and important information:

• We offer top-decile compensation packages, bonuses and meaningful equity, to attract exceptional aerospace talent.
• Every employee is awarded stock options in the company, you will directly benefit from your own hard work and success.
• Comprehensive relocation support including flights, shipping and visas.
• Lunch, dinner and drinks provided everyday
• Free access to shared company housing

Please note, we are a fast paced, hyper-scaling startup. You will need to be comfortable working extended hours with high levels of autonomy, ownership, and flexibility, with contracts structured around a 48-hour working week.

We are committed to building an equitable and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, has equal access to opportunity, and can thrive. We welcome different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences—and believe our differences make us stronger.
