As a Global Sales Manager, you will act as an entrepreneur within our company, reporting directly to the Managing Director of Ferrotec Europe GmbH. You will take responsibility for worldwide sales, manufacturing, engineering, and application consulting, while supporting our subsidiaries across China, Asia, and the USA to expand our market share in optics and metallization.

Activities

• Developing a sales strategy and a sales concept based on it
• Acquiring and developing new customers and new projects
• Aligning the sales organization with changing requirements
• Actively supporting sales activities and advising the top 10 customers
• Conducting market and customer potential analyses, providing forecasts, monitoring competition, and defining a manufacturing plan
• Maintaining and expanding external engineering partnerships
• Managing service and repair decisions, lead times, and productivity
• Initiating yearly sales budgets and monthly budget-to-actual comparisons
• Providing monthly business reports on sales, gross margin, and operating income
• Setting sales prices to determine gross margin and operating income
• Coordinating sales management and promotion with group subsidiaries
• Initiating new product developments
• Presenting the product portfolio to customers and at trade shows
• Participating in relevant industry associations and expert committees

Requirements

The resulting main tasks are:

• Developing a sales strategy and a sales concept based on it
• Acquiring and developing new customers and new projects
• Aligning the sales organization with changing requirements (e.g., through training)
• Actively supporting sales activities (including in person) and advising the top 10 (or most important) customers
• Conducting market and customer potential analyses, providing forecasts regarding market developments and trends, monitoring and analyzing the competition and defining a manufacturing plan
• Engineering: Maintain existing external partnerships and expand the existing network where needed
• Service & Repair: Make decision on the need for a service call (field service); monitor lead time and productivity for in-house repair.
• Initiate yearly sales budget incl. gross margin and operating income and corresponding quantities of each product (manufacturing plan)
• Initiate monthly measure to compare budget to LFYE/actual results
• Providing monthly business reports, i.e. sales, gross margin and operating income figures for consolidation according Ferrotec Europe´s reporting requirements
• Setting sales prices and thereby determining gross margin and operating income
• Sales management and sales promotion in coordination with the responsible colleagues in the group´s subsidiaries
• Initiating new product developments
• Presenting the product portfolio to customers and at trade shows, both nationally and internationally
• Participating in relevant industry associations and expert committees
