Your mission
We have challenging tasks for you:
As a Data Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for building and evolving modern cloud platforms for Data & AI. Together with our team and our clients, you will develop platforms that can be operated in a scalable, secure, and sustainable manner.
In doing so, you will combine cloud infrastructure, platform architecture, and modern Data & AI technologies into solutions that create a stable foundation for analytics, data engineering, and AI use cases.
In detail, you will:
- Design, build, and continuously evolve cloud-based Data & AI platforms
- Develop platform strategies and target architectures together with our clients and implement them technically
- Design scalable and robust platform architectures that serve as a foundation for data-driven solutions
- Provision modern cloud infrastructures on Azure or AWS automatically using Infrastructure as Code
- Work specifically with Terraform or OpenTofu as well as modern CI/CD processes
- Design and evolve Databricks platforms regarding workspaces, compute, networking, identity, security, and governance
- Make architecture decisions and establish best practices for performance, security, governance, scalability, and cost optimization
- Develop reusable platform blueprints, standards, and automations
- Evaluate new technologies and platform components and integrate them meaningfully into existing architectures
- Support data, analytics, and AI teams by providing stable and high-performance platforms
- Contribute to technical concepts, architecture workshops, and the further development of our standards together with our team
Your profile
What we are looking for
You work in a structured manner, think in terms of platforms and architectures, and implement technical solutions cleanly and sustainably.
Ideally, you bring to the table:
- Sound experience in building modern cloud infrastructures and platform architectures
- Excellent knowledge of at least one cloud platform, ideally Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, e.g., Terraform, OpenTofu, Bicep, or comparable technologies
- A strong understanding of scalable, secure, and maintainable system and platform architectures
- Experience with technologies in the Data & AI domain, particularly Databricks
- Knowledge in areas such as cloud networking, identity & access management, security, and governance
- Basic software development skills, e.g., with Python, as well as experience handling APIs and automation
- Experience with Git and CI/CD
- A solid understanding of the requirements that data, analytics, ML, and AI workloads place on a modern platform
- A completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification
- The ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them purposefully
- A structured, self-reliant, and solution-oriented way of working
- Very good German skills (C2) and good English skills
What we would also be happy to see:
- Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog and governance concepts
- Experience with Azure Private Link, VNet Integration, or comparable AWS networking concepts
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable CI/CD solutions
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or other data platform technologies
- Experience with Landing Zones, platform blueprints, or standardized cloud deployments
- Experience in client projects and technical architecture workshops
- Certifications in the context of Databricks, Azure, or AWS
Why us?
Are you looking to design and build modern Data & AI platforms in the cloud and actively shape the technical future for our clients?
Do you think in terms of platforms and architectures, enjoy working hands-on with Infrastructure as Code, and want to create sustainable foundations for data and AI applications?
What awaits you with us: High-end tech & genuine appreciation:
- Modern Platform Engineering: You will design and automate scalable cloud Data & AI platforms on Azure or AWS. We rely on clean code (e.g., with Terraform/OpenTofu), CI/CD, and reusable platform blueprints—no quick-and-dirty hacks.
- Databricks & Governance Excellence: Whether it's Unity Catalog, workspaces, cloud networking (such as Private Link), or Identity & Access Management—you will design secure, high-performance Databricks environments based on top best practices.
- Steep Learning Curve toward Core Expertise: We actively support your growth from specialist to trusted advisor. Further certifications (e.g., Databricks, Azure, AWS) are fully covered by us!
- Creative Freedom & Client Contact: You will develop target architectures, facilitate architecture workshops, and advise clients on equal footing during the implementation of their Data & AI strategies.
- Best-in-Class Setup: Work with state-of-the-art cloud technologies, cutting-edge tools, and premium equipment.
- Genuine Team Culture: International exchange, mutual support, and flat hierarchies. We collaborate on technical concepts and enjoy celebrating success together.
- Work-Life Balance & Flexibility: We embrace flexible working models—depending on the team and department, our colleagues work hybrid or remote-only. For this role, a hybrid model with 2 fixed work-from-home days per week is preferred to achieve the ideal balance of focus time and personal interaction. In the case of an absolute perfect match, we are naturally open to a full-remote option.
