Account Executive (m/f/d) - Stuttgart

About us:

Saltz is an online food marketplace serving restaurants across multiple European markets. We help chefs and restaurants discover and source products from trusted local and international suppliers.

At Saltz, we believe the best ingredients should be accessible through one seamless marketplace experience. Restaurants purchase directly from Saltz and are fully supported across sales, logistics, customer support, account management, and claims handling. Through our catalogue and platform, we provide visibility into sourcing origins and product information, helping chefs make informed purchasing decisions and discover trusted suppliers worldwide.

We recently closed a €20M Series A backed by leading European venture funds. Our vision is to build the modern infrastructure layer for foodservice commerce - building the new standard for how the world sources food.

About the role:

As an Account Executive at Saltz, your mission is to change how chefs order food and grow the accounts of the gastronomy businesses already doing it with us.

You're selling something genuinely different: a digital marketplace that allows chefs to order as close as possible to the source. They gain full transparency on pricing, a simple and intuitive ordering experience, access to suppliers they already trust and discover new products – all in one place, our marketplace.

To do this well, you need to understand the world you're walking into. If you've spent time in food distribution, wholesale, or supply — selling ingredients or products to HoReCa clients — you already think the way our best customers think. You know what a good price looks like, you know what chefs care about, and you know how to have a real conversation in a kitchen. That's the foundation this role is built on.

What you will do:

• Introduce Saltz to chefs, restaurant owner, F&B managers and convince them to start placing orders using the platform
• Own a portfolio of restaurant and other HoReCa accounts — your job is to grow them, not just maintain them
• Visit clients regularly: walk the kitchen, understand their challenges, find where Saltz can do more for them
• Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts by asking the right questions and listening carefully
• Build relationships with the people who matter — chefs, GMs, procurement teams — so they think of you as a trusted advisor
• Work closely with the teams to turn client feedback into actionable input for the platform
• Drive growth by keeping as many accounts as possible actively ordering
• Represent Saltz at industry events, trade visits, and in-person meetings where your HoReCa credibility opens doors

What you need:

• Experience selling food products (ingredients, supplies, or beverages) to restaurants, hotels, or other HoReCa clients — distribution, wholesale, or food supplier background is exactly what we're looking for
• You understand food pricing, margins, and how chefs make buying decisions — a chef can't confuse you on specs or costs
• A proven track record of growing existing accounts, not just closing new ones
• Comfortable managing multiple demanding relationships simultaneously
• Language skills: fluent German (C1) and good English skills

Nice-to-haves:

• Familiarity with marketplaces, SaaS, or digital tools for the hospitality industry
• Experience selling to hotel chains or multi-unit restaurant operators
• An existing network in the local HoReCa market
• You speak other languages

What you get:

• Salary base
• MID position EUR 46,000 - 55,000 yearly gross
• Senior position EUR 55,000 - 63,000 yearly gross
• Commission on the top of the base salary, uncapped
• Commuting covered via business accounts (Bolt, Uber, Miles)
• €200/month Payhawk for other work expenses - things like client coffees, meals, small day-to-day costs
• Hardware from day one to get you up and running
• A front-row seat to learn from some of the boldest thinkers in food and distribution, people who are genuinely reshaping how chefs buy
• A company that just raised €20M and is moving fast so your impact here is real and visible
• The chance to be part of digitising an industry that's been stuck in the past for too long
• Access to the best industry events like restaurant openings, trade fairs, supplier showcases where you'll be representing Saltz where the food world actually gathers

Our hiring process:

We aim for a fast, transparent, and fair process. Here’s what you can expect:

• Interview with Talent Acquisition Manager (30’)
• Interview with Head of Sales (30’)
