Engineering Intern

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are building the #1 AI learning companion for 1 billion students globally.

We are building a future where every student on the planet can access, enjoy, and benefit from the highest quality education. Since founding Knowunity straight out of high school in 2020, we've been committed to revolutionising how students learn.

Millions of students already use our AI learning companion weekly. We just raised €27m - Europe’s largest education round in the past three years. The AI learning market is at an inflection point, finally enabling true personalisation at scale, and we're determined to build the first AI learning unicorn in this space.

You will join an elite team of 60 hands-on builders serving 1 billion students worldwide. If we execute on our product vision, you will have built something generational that transforms education globally.

This is your chance to be part of building a generational company.

YOUR MISSION

The problem you’ll solve: You’ll support our fast-moving engineering team in building and improving the product that helps millions of students learn better every day.

Your ownership:

• Support product managers and engineers in building new product features and improvements.
• Help implement core functionalities that directly impact our user experience.
• Improve code quality and contribute to our technical foundation as we scale.

Why this matters: Knowunity is used by millions of students globally, and we’re just getting started. The features and improvements you help build will directly impact how students learn and grow with us every day. Your work helps us move faster and smarter on our mission to become the #1 learning companion for 1 billion students.

What success looks like: You contribute meaningfully to live product features, collaborate closely with senior engineers and the CTO, and develop rapidly as a technical talent. You bring your ideas to the table, take ownership of mini-projects, and leave the internship with the opportunity to join full-time.

Our Tech Stack

Our app is written in Flutter with Riverpod. Our Golang backend is powered by PostgreSQL and hosted on AWS with Kubernetes. Our AI stack consists of several LLM providers (OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic, and Mistral), custom routing engines, and fine-tuned models. Our data stack consists of BigQuery and dbt.

You’ve built things you’re proud of — whether in class, side projects, or internships — and you’re hungry to apply what you know in a real-world, high-impact setting. You want to grow fast, contribute meaningfully, and help shape the future of a product users love.
