Senior Account Executive SMB Outbound

Job Summary:

As PayPal continues its mission to revolutionize commerce, we’re looking for a Senior Account Executive, SMB Outbound to join our Small and Medium Business Sales team in Germany.

Your tasks

The more complex the SMB opportunity, the more it needs someone who can navigate it end to end. In this role, you’ll lead the acquisition of higher-value, more complex new-logo merchants — including winback business — from partner platforms, working across a mix of DBM, partner-generated and AI-supported prospecting leads.

Expect longer sales cycles, more negotiation, and real ownership from first qualification through to close.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

• Collaborate internally to influence process quality and efficiency.
• Determine appropriate actions and consider alternative solutions.
• Acquire, manage, and expand relationships with small and medium-sized merchants.
• Use analytical skills and judgment to recommend best solutions.
• Influence through defined processes and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:

What You’ll Do

• Lead complex acquisition opportunities from qualification through negotiation and close.
• Prioritise leads using expected transaction margin, conversion potential and merchant readiness.
• Develop tailored onboarding and commercial propositions for higher-value merchants.
• Maintain reliable forecasts, mentor less experienced Account Executives, and ensure a complete handover of newly acquired merchants to the Account Representative team.

Your profile

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

What We’re Looking For

• A track record of owning multi-step, higher-value deals, navigating ambiguity and closing with clear commercial logic.
• Sound commercial judgment: you assess value and probability, choose where to invest your time, and change approach as the evidence shifts.
• Build credible forecasts, manage next actions with discipline, and surface risks early rather than late.
• A natural mentor who raises team capability through practical coaching and improves processes using evidence, not instinct.
• Experience in partner-sourced, channel-led or complex new-business sales is a plus.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
