Procurement Manager, Integrated Systems (Cryogenics, Vacuum, Plant)

WHO YOU ARE

• Around 5–7 years of experience in procurement, supplier management or strategic sourcing.
• Experience sourcing complex equipment, machinery or integrated technical systems and working under uncertainty
• Comfortable working with technical specifications, system interfaces and acceptance testing and able to adapt to constant changes.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Able to balance technical, commercial and project considerations when making sourcing decisions.
• You switch cleanly between strategic thinking and execution mode, navigating multi-stakeholder environments with ease and bringing professionalism to everything you touch
• Degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Preferred experience in fusion, aerospace, energy, nuclear, automation or other complex engineering industries.
• Preferred experience sourcing cryogenic systems, vacuum equipment, manufacturing machinery, power systems or similar technical packages.
• Preferred familiarity with FAT/SAT, commissioning, warranties and lifecycle support.
• Preferred experience in a startup, scale-up or first-of-a-kind engineering environment.

Proxima Fusion is Europe’s fastest-growing fusion company and the continent’s best-funded fusion player, as well as the first spin-out from the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP). Backed by over €650M and powered by a growing team across Munich, Zurich, and Oxford, we are developing the hardware and infrastructure needed to deliver the world’s first commercial stellarator fusion power plant.

Our concept advances the most mature fusion technology out there, the Wendelstein 7-X stellarator, through two next-generation machines: Alpha and Stellaris. Our work combines stellarator optimization, advanced computation, machine learning, and high-temperature superconducting magnets to unlock higher-performance designs that were previously out of reach.
