Ihr Profil

• Abgeschlossenes Studium im Ingenieurwesen, einer technischen Fachrichtung oder im Bereich Verbundwerkstoffe / Composites, jeweils mindestens auf Bachelor-Niveau
• Jeweils mehr als zwei Jahre Berufserfahrung in Forschung und Entwicklung, Manufacturing Engineering und Werkstoffprüfung
• Vorerfahrung mit thermoplastischen Werkstoffen ist erforderlich
• Kenntnisse in Materialcharakterisierungstechniken, zum Beispiel DMA, DSC, FTIR und mechanischen Prüfungen, sind von Vorteil
• Erfahrung mit fortschrittlichen Fertigungstechniken wie automatisierter Faserablage (AFP), Schweißen, zum Beispiel Induktions- oder Widerstandsschweißen, oder Stamp Forming von Thermoplasten ist besonders wünschenswert
• Kenntnisse in Google Workspace sowie verhandlungssichere Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse
• Hervorragende analytische Fähigkeiten, Problemlösungskompetenz und kritisches Denkvermögen
• Ausgeprägte Kommunikationsfähigkeit und soziale Kompetenz zur effektiven Zusammenarbeit in einem multidisziplinären Team
• Reisebereitschaft innerhalb Europas, ungefähr alle zwei Wochen

For more than 25 years, HESYS Engineering has connected technical specialists with demanding assignments for customers in aerospace, defence and high-tech. For our customer AIRBUS, we are looking for a suitable candidate.

You will join a transnational team working on research and technology development for advanced thermoplastic materials and processes. Your focus will be on future aerospace applications and the transition of developed technologies into industrial use.

Your tasks

• Conduct research and development activities related to thermoplastic materials, processing techniques, such as automated fiber placement, welding, and stamp forming, and structural applications for aerospace
• Design, execute, and analyze experimental campaigns to characterize thermoplastic material properties, evaluate manufacturing processes, and assess structural performance
• Collaborate with internal teams in design, stress, and manufacturing and external partners such as universities and suppliers on R&T projects
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in thermoplastic materials and processing technologies and identify opportunities for innovation
• Prepare technical reports and presentations detailing R&T findings and recommendations
• Support the transition of developed technologies from research to industrial application
• Contribute to intellectual property development through patent applications and technical disclosures

Your profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, a technical discipline, or composite materials
• More than two years of professional experience in each of the following areas: research and development, manufacturing engineering, and material testing
• Previous experience with thermoplastic materials is required
• Proficiency in material characterization techniques, such as DMA, DSC, FTIR, and mechanical testing, is a plus
• Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques such as automated fiber placement (AFP), welding, for example induction or resistance welding, or stamp forming of thermoplastics is highly desirable
• Knowledge of Google Workspace and negotiation-level German and English
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Willingness to travel within Europe approximately every two weeks
