Blackwave designs, manufactures and ships flight-qualified, commercial off-the-shelf composite overwrapped pressure vessels (COPVs) for launch vehicles and satellites. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Munich, Germany, the company delivers COPVs from a standardized portfolio with flight heritage. The approach reduces lead time from months to days while ensuring that each tank is qualified and flight-ready. Blackwave's mission is to end COPV failure in spaceflight. The company employs more than 150 people across manufacturing facilities in Germany and Texas.

Your Responsibilities
THE WHY
At blackwave, we are scaling our technology and building the foundation for the next generation of aerospace manufacturing. Our new site will become the environment that enables our growth for the years ahead.
In this role, you take ownership of one of our most strategic company projects: developing our future headquarters and production site from the first idea to successful implementation.
You bring together people, requirements, and complex project streams — turning a vision into a fully operational reality.
THE WHAT
You are the central driver of our new site development project. You lead all project phases — from site analysis and planning to construction and successful commissioning — while aligning internal teams, external partners, and authorities.
You don’t just manage a construction project. You create the physical foundation for blackwave’s future.
Lead the project from initial site analysis through planning, execution, and successful commissioning.
→ Accountability: Own the mission. Own the outcome.
Align requirements from manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and business functions into a scalable and future-ready site concept.
→ Togetherness: Many perspectives. One vision.
Coordinate with authorities, architects, planners, and external experts to ensure all requirements are addressed.
→ Candor: Create clarity. Move forward.
Manage topics such as production areas, material flow, technical building systems, IT infrastructure, and facility requirements together with experts and partners.
→ High Performance: Build it right. Build it for scale.
Coordinate external suppliers, ensure transparent communication, and manage budget, timelines, quality, and risks.
→ Togetherness: Align teams. Deliver together.
Several years of experience leading complex industrial, production, or site development projects.
Experience developing production sites, industrial buildings, or headquarters from concept through implementation is highly valued.
Strong knowledge of factory planning, production layouts, material flow, infrastructure, and technical building systems.
You confidently align different interests and communicate effectively with internal teams, authorities, planners, and external partners.
You work independently, stay solution-oriented, and keep complex projects moving forward.
You combine long-term thinking with hands-on execution and turn concepts into reality.
High ownership & real impact: Shape the site that enables blackwave’s next phase of growth.
Startup mindset meets aerospace innovation: Flat hierarchies, fast decisions, and direct impact.
Strategic visibility: Work closely with leadership, engineering, and business functions on one of the company’s most important projects.
Growth opportunities: Take ownership of a unique industrial development project and grow with blackwave.
Choose your own benefit: Germany ticket, Egym Wellpass, or a tax-free Give Card.
Healthy & social lunch culture: Enjoy fresh meals during shared lunch breaks.
Stunning views: Wind down on our rooftop terrace with breathtaking views of the Alps in Taufkirchen or enjoy our indoor garden in Garching-Hochbrück.
We live our team culture: From tech talks to team events and after-work gatherings – we celebrate success together.
