As an **Embedded Software Engineer (m/f/x)**, you will play a key role in the development of next-generation semiconductor test solutions. Working closely with system architects, hardware engineers, application software engineers you will design and implement high-performance software that directly interacts with complex electronic systems.
## Your responsibilities:
Build expertise in the area of Advantest V93000 SmartTest **Digital Device Drivers and Embedded Software**, as well as the underlying hardware architecture
Develop high-performance **embedded software and device drivers** for **Linux-based** systems
Design, implement and optimize **C++ applications** and hardware abstraction layers with a focus on reliability, performance and maintainability
Work with industry-standard interfaces and protocols such as **Ethernet, TCP/IP, SPI, I²C, and CAN**
Analyze, integrate and troubleshoot hardware-software interactions on complex embedded platforms
Create prototypes and proof-of-concepts to evaluate new technologies and technical solutions
Collaborate closely with **application software** and **hardware engineering** teams in an agile development environment
## Your profile:
Must have:
Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems or a related field
Few years of professional experience in **Linux**-based **embedded** software development, with expertise in Ethernet, TCP/IP, SPI, I²C and CAN
Profound knowledge of **object-oriented** design principles and software **architecture**, combined with strong programming skills in **C++17** and later standards
Solid understanding of **operating systems**, **device drivers**, real-time concepts and **HW/SW interaction**
Experience with debugging and performance analysis of embedded platforms
Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop sustainable solutions
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional and international team
Nice to have:
Experience with semiconductor test equipment, industrial automation or measurement systems
Knowledge of Embedded Linux, Yocto, Buildroot or similar platforms
Experience with multicore and multithreaded applications
Experience with Python scripting and automated testing
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
