*🚀** Build the software that controls the next generation of precision lithography.
Join a **renowned global technology company** developing highly sophisticated systems for the semiconductor industry. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will work at the intersection of **low-level software, electronics and precision engineering**, developing reliable control software for systems where every microsecond and every line of code can matter.
If you enjoy working close to the hardware, solving complex technical problems in C and turning demanding system requirements into robust embedded solutions, this is an opportunity to make a direct contribution to next-generation lithography technology.
## Your Role
Develop **embedded control software for next-generation lithography systems**
Design and implement **bare-metal software in C** for high-performance embedded controllers
Work closely with hardware, electronics and system engineers to develop and integrate reliable control solutions
Contribute to **embedded Linux-based software components** where required
Translate system and software requirements into robust, maintainable technical solutions
Contribute to **software architecture and technical design decisions**
Analyze runtime behavior, system interactions and edge cases to ensure reliable system performance
Develop and improve **test and verification infrastructure**, including automated testing
Use **Python for test automation and development support** where appropriate
Support the complete software lifecycle — from requirements and design through implementation, integration and verification
Work in an agile, highly specialized and interdisciplinary engineering team
## Your Profile
Degree in **Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Control/Automation Engineering, Physics, Mathematics** or a comparable technical field
Strong and recent hands-on experience in **professional C software development for bare-metal or embedded systems**
Solid understanding of **low-level embedded software concepts**, including memory management, interrupts, peripherals and hardware-related programming
Practical experience with **machine-oriented software development**, embedded Linux and/or real-time environments
Initial experience with **software architecture, technical design and engineering decision-making**
Strong understanding of software design principles and the ability to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
Ability to analyze **runtime behavior, system interactions and complex edge cases**
Experience with **Python and automated testing** is an advantage
Knowledge of **FPGA technologies or VHDL** is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a structured and pragmatic approach
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in **interdisciplinary engineering teams**
**Very good English skills**; German language skills are an advantage
## What makes this role interesting
You will not be working on software in isolation. Your code will interact directly with **real hardware and highly precise mechatronic systems** used in one of the world’s most demanding technology environments.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with experts in **embedded software, electronics, control engineering and system development**, influence technical solutions and take responsibility from the first design decision through implementation and verification.
*If C is your language, hardware is where you feel at home, and you want to solve engineering problems at the limits of precision and performance, we would like to hear from you.**
