Director of Sales (North America) (m/f/d)

Potential Progression to US Country Manager / General Manager

• Leadership Development: Work closely with the current US leadership to build an understanding of local operations, customer relationships and financial management while delivering sales results.
• Local Management Scope: If appointed, assume P&L and operational responsibility for SCHMID Systems Inc., covering local engineering, service and administration within SCHMID Group’s governance.
• Progression Criteria: Consideration for this local role will depend on sustained sales performance, demonstrated leadership and business needs. Any succession decision and timing will be based on these results and readiness to manage the US entity.

Required Profiles Qualifications

• Experience: At least five years of successful sales experience in capital equipment, thin-film deposition, vacuum technology or advanced wet-chemical process solutions. Experience with North American customers in PCB manufacturing, substrates or process chemistry is strongly preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of PCB, IC substrate and advanced interconnect manufacturing, including wet-process parameters such as temperature, chemistry, fluid dynamics and uniformity across:

o HDI and high-layer-count multilayer PCB manufacturing.

o mSAP / SAP processes and ABF substrate technology.

o Desmear, electroless copper deposition, electroplating and DES workflows.

• Drive and Track Record: Demonstrated success in generating your own pipeline, winning new accounts and closing complex capital equipment sales. Commercial ambition, resilience and disciplined follow-through, supported by specific examples of orders won and profitable growth delivered.
• Leadership Potential: Earn the trust of customers and colleagues through sound judgment, accountability and effective collaboration. Show the ability to take on broader responsibility for a local technical and service organization.
• Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, or business administration with a strong technical focus, is preferred.
• Communication and Travel: Communicate technical and commercial value clearly to engineering, procurement and executive stakeholders. Travel to customers across North America, with international travel for technical coordination and industry events as required.
