About this job

YOUR JOB

Are you excited by the idea of growing existing customers instead of chasing cold prospects? Do you thrive when commercial ownership, strategic account development and closing responsibility come together? As one of the first Account Managers at DataGuard, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of customers with significant untapped growth potential and help build our Account Management function from the ground up. If you enjoy uncovering new opportunities, expanding customer relationships and turning business challenges into commercial success, we'd love to hear from you.

WE PROTECT THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE DATA

We are a fast-growing security and compliance tech company with a clear purpose: we protect the people behind the data. With over 200 team members worldwide and with offices in Munich, Berlin, London, Stockholm, and Vienna, we help more than 4,000 global customers get certified fast and build a strong and scalable risk posture. With AI-powered automation, self-serve capabilities, and additional tailored expert advice, we offer our customers a seamless security and compliance experience to stay ahead of the rapidly evolving security landscape and challenges like the surge in cyber-attacks.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

You take ownership of expansion revenue across a portfolio of existing customers that has been intentionally selected for its significant growth potential

You help build DataGuard's Account Management function from the ground up, shaping processes, collaboration models and best practices along the way

You create and execute strategic account plans that uncover new use cases, engage additional stakeholders and unlock growth opportunities across your accounts

You turn customer needs, regulatory changes and compliance & security requirements into commercially meaningful conversations and expansion opportunities

You work closely with Customer Success and Professional Services, leveraging their customer insights to identify and convert opportunities into revenue

You build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and lead commercial discussions from discovery through to negotiation and close

You drive long term account growth while helping more customers benefit from the full breadth of DataGuard's Security and Compliance solutions

You collaborate closely with the wider Sales team and report directly to the Head of Sales, playing a key role in DataGuard's growth journey

WHAT YOU'LL GET IN RETURN

The freedom, trust, and tools to do what you love and make an impact in a purpose-driven company, committed to doing genuine good in the digital world.
Enjoy a high degree of flexibility with tailored working hours, choice of work location, and benefits that support your lifestyle, health, and family needs.
Join a secure, future-focused role in a dynamic scale-up positioned to make a major impact in the rapidly expanding Security & Compliance market.
Grow along expert or leadership paths with support from employee accelerator programs, bi-annual feedback cycles, and a personal training budget.
Work in an environment that values autonomy, rapid decision-making, a flat hierarchy, and collaborative, eye-level communication to keep things moving forward

THE QUALITIES YOU'LL NEED FOR A SUCCESSFUL CAREER AT DATAGUARD

You have experience owning revenue targets across a portfolio of existing customers, named accounts or a book of business in a B2B SaaS Environment
You know how to spot opportunity where others see a satisfied customer
You consistently uncover and convert growth opportunities into revenue through upsell, cross sell and strategic account development
You know how to navigate multiple stakeholders and build business cases that lead to commercial outcomes
You thrive in environments where not everything is fully built yet and see ambiguity as an opportunity rather than a blocker
You are fluent in German and English

LAST BUT NOT LEAST. FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS:

No matter your origin, ethnicity, gender identity, religion or individual requirements; at DataGuard, all that counts is the person you are. As Guards and Guardettes, we are united not only by our dedication, but also by our shared belief in our purpose: Protect the people behind the data. Convince us with your personality and your skills – and together we will make great things happen. We are looking forward to meeting you!
