Product Engineer (m/f/x)

01 · Why this role exists

Invest in Values. Produce in Freedom. Boost Europe.

Europe can reindustrialise if we bring AI, energy market opportunities and industrial processes together. Europe's largest industrial companies, together around 2% of Europe's total energy demand, already make their energy decisions with RIZMO, the AI agent in our Energy OS at RIZM.

As Product Engineer you build that product. You decide what we build and ship it to real industrial sites, with short feedback loops straight from the customer. No ticket queue. You'll work from our office in Munich or Münster.

02 · Meet Max, your Head of Engineering

I'm Max, Head of Engineering at RIZM. My team and I own our product: intuitive workflows, outstanding algorithms, resilient infrastructure and an AI agent layer on top of it all.

What drives me is the speed here: fast decisions, quick iterations and real responsibility for everyone. What matters most to us is high ownership, a growth mindset, trust and having each other's back, in a team where everyone can grow, thrive and have fun together along the way.

If you want to change how Europe's industry uses energy, we'd be thrilled to have you on board.

Let's make the energy transition real, together.

Max

03 · What you'll be building

• Features end to end: Take user-facing features in Digital Twin, Designer, Operator and Portfolio Manager from idea through design to production.
• AI agents that act: Build agents that read digital twins, run optimisations, explain plans and soon act on their own. Make them reliable with guardrails, grounding and evals tested against real customer data.
• Data people understand: Turn complex simulations and live data streams from customers' IT/OT systems, markets and weather into clear charts, time series and maps.

04 · What you bring

• Experience: 2–5 years building customer-facing products, with a proven track record of taking complex features from idea to launch.
• Tech skills: Strong TypeScript with Vue or React, comfortable across browser, Node and PostgreSQL, plus containers and CI/CD.
• AI-native: You have shipped LLM features to real users and know their costs and failure modes. Claude Code, agents and subagents are part of your daily work.
• Ownership: You care about design details, cut scope without being asked and enjoy unclear problems. You don't need to know industrial energy yet, just be curious about it.

Our stack: Vue, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud (Kubernetes, GitLab CI), LangGraph across multiple models, Julia and Python for optimisation and forecasting. You don't need to know Julia, just don't be scared of it.

05 · Why you should apply now

Europe's energy market is going through its biggest change in decades. RIZM grew from a Stanford research project into a fast-growing company whose software runs at sites like BMW and BSH. Demand is outpacing our team and our next funding round is ahead. Join now and shape what comes next.

• Equity: A share in the company on top of your base salary. We set your level during the process, not from your CV.
• Top-tier investors: Direct access to the Point 9 and Earlybird networks for sparring, mentoring and learning.
• Team workation: Once a year, with talks from our Visionary Voices (e.g. Robert Habeck, Kitty Mayo, James Vincent).
• Into the field: Visit industrial sites and see your software running in real operations.

06 · One click, then what?

For now it's just one small step: press Apply. Here is a sneak peek at what comes next.

Your application: Send us your CV and, instead of a classic cover letter, a few honest lines on these two questions. No templates, no buzzwords.

• One weekend, Claude Code, unlimited tokens. What do you build, and why that?
• RIZMO is our AI agent that runs energy decisions for industrial sites. Which new skill would you give it tomorrow, and what is the biggest bottleneck to building it?

After that:

• Technical challenge: A hands-on task that shows how you think and build.
• Technical deep dive: With Max and the engineering team, where we go through your challenge together.
• A day with us: On site. Build something together, have lunch, meet the team and one of our founders. Then we make you an offer.
