At our location in Wedel near Hamburg, we are looking for a Head of Data Office (all genders).

About the Role

For the establishment of our Data Office, you will create governance structures, ensure transparency and coordinate collaboration between the relevant functions across the organisation.

You will not be responsible for operational data work. Instead, you will ensure that the right stakeholders work together effectively, that decisions are made transparently and can be traced and that a company-wide framework for data management is established. Functional and operational responsibility remains with the respective business functions and subject matter experts.

Your tasks

Build and develop a company-wide Data Office as a central governance and coordination function
Establish pragmatic governance structures, role models and processes for an organisation-wide data management
Create transparency regarding data ownership, standards, decision-making processes and areas requiring action
Build and continuously develop a network of data owners and data stewards
Facilitate and coordinate collaboration between data owners and data stewards across the business functions IT, Digital Excellence, Legal & Compliance, Master Data Management and other relevant stakeholders
Drive the further development of our data management and data governance landscape; create the organisational foundations for analytics, automation and AI initiatives

Successfully completed a degree in business administration, business informatics, computer science or a comparable qualification
Several years of experience in data management, data governance, process management or transformation
Proven experience in establishing governance structures and managing cross-functional initiatives
Strong understanding of organisational structures, responsibilities and complex stakeholder environments
Ability to align diverse interests and develop sustainable, workable solutions
Excellent facilitation, communication and influencing skills
Strategic mindset combined with a pragmatic and results-orientated approach
Ability to drive change and inspire people to work towards shared goals
Passion for building structures, creating transparency and fostering sustainable collaboration
Fluent in German and English
