About the role
As Epic Owner (m/f/d/x) – Identity, Household & Trust , you are responsible for the functional evolution of the core capabilities around identity, household structures, and Trust & Safety for MagentaTV across all supported platforms and markets.
Your focus is on capabilities that enable a consistent, secure, and personalized MagentaTV experience — from user profiles and household structures to consent and permissions, parental controls, personalization, and cross-service identity.
You ensure that these capabilities evolve consistently across devices and markets while balancing customer needs, business priorities, and the requirements of our national companies.
In this role, you are the central functional interface between Product Management, Client Product Owners, UX/UI, Architecture, and Engineering. You translate strategic objectives and market requirements into clear capability roadmaps, epics, and functional requirements.
You own the functional and business evolution of your capability. Operational delivery, sprint planning, and detailed UX implementation are outside the scope of your responsibility.
Your responsibilities
- You define requirements for user profiles and preference structures and ensure that user preferences can be captured consistently and used across relevant services.
- You own the functional requirements for cross-service identity.
- You define requirements for profiles and household structures and continuously evolve these capabilities.
- You own the requirements for shared use of MagentaTV within a household, including identifying who is currently watching and which profile is being used.
- You define requirements for parental controls, child protection features, and kids’ profiles.
- You own platform requirements for content classification, age ratings, and child and youth protection capabilities. This includes supporting relevant frameworks and standards such as FSK/USK, PEGI, AVMSD, or comparable local regulations. The specific definition of age categories, thresholds, and regulatory interpretation for each market remains the responsibility of the respective national company.
- You define requirements for permissions and consent management.
- You own the functional evolution of a shared identity and preference model ("Taste Graph”) across multiple services. The goal is to establish a consistent and continuously evolving model of individual user preferences across both first-party and aggregated third-party content, supporting personalization across the entire platform.
- You ensure cross-service continuity of profiles, preferences, and permissions so that, following successful authentication, they are consistently available across first-party applications, partner apps, and different devices.
- You define requirements for implicit profile recognition, enabling the platform to identify who is currently watching without requiring users to switch profiles manually. In doing so, you ensure that appropriate data protection and privacy safeguards are taken into account.
- You define requirements for privacy-compliant personalization and determine how preference information can be used within existing consent boundaries. This includes, in particular, transparency and user controls over individual preference profiles.
- You harmonize the requirements of national companies across Identity, Household, and Trust & Safety and turn them into shared, scalable solutions.
- You initiate and support Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to evaluate suitable vendors and technologies.
- You continuously monitor customer feedback and relevant KPIs within your domain, such as profile usage, the number of active profiles per household, usage of parental control features, and consent rates.
- You design and steer A/B tests and experiments within your domain based on the shared experimentation framework.
How you will work with us
- You translate customer needs, business requirements, and market requirements into concrete capabilities and epics.
- You analyze existing customer journeys and identify opportunities to continuously improve the customer experience.
- You formulate clear functional requirements and robust acceptance criteria.
- You ensure a consistent customer experience across all supported platforms and devices.
- You work closely with Client Product Owners during refinement and implementation.
- Together with UX, Architecture, and Engineering, you ensure that functional and business objectives are appropriately reflected in the implemented solutions.
- You collaborate closely with Legal and Privacy/Data Protection, particularly on requirements related to consent, compliance, and Trust & Safety within your domain.
- You monitor customer feedback and relevant capability KPIs and continuously derive opportunities for improvement.
What you bring
In addition to at least five years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, Epic Owner, or in a comparable role focused on identity, household, or similar customer-facing platform capabilities, you have a solid understanding of fundamental data protection principles and regulatory requirements, such as the GDPR, insofar as they apply to household, profile, and consent data.
Your additional skills include:
- Familiarity with the regulatory landscape for content classification, age ratings, and child and youth protection, such as FSK/USK, PEGI, or AVMSD, at a level that enables you to define platform capabilities supporting local compliance requirements.
- Experience designing and defining customer-centric digital capabilities and product requirements.
- The ability to formulate clear, structured, and traceable requirements and acceptance criteria, including at portfolio level.
- Experience with data-driven product development and decision-making.
- Strong analytical skills and a structured, solution-oriented way of working.
- Experience harmonizing requirements across different markets, national companies, or business units.
- The ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and structured product requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience with customer journey analysis and digital product development.
Nice to have
- Experience with TV, OTT, or streaming platforms.
- Experience with SAFe or a comparable scaled agile framework, including PI Planning, Feature Refinement, and Dependency Management.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with child and youth protection, parental controls, or family- and household-related product capabilities.
