TYTAN Technologies

The PACE is fast. The expectations are high. The contribution matters. Working at TYTAN is more than a job, this is a mission. We thrive, think big, and hold ourselves to the highest standard. Our mission and values guide everything we do, and we're looking for people who thrive on ownership, embrace challenges, and are energized by meaningful work. If you're motivated by impact and thrive in dynamic environments, you'll fit right in.

At TYTAN , we aim to set a global standard in autonomous air defense with AI-driven, cost-efficient systems that counter unmanned aerial threats at scale. We protect people. We protect critical infrastructure. We protect Europe’s sovereignty.

We are looking for a new team member who is eager to make a real difference! As a Senior Software Architect, you will be responsible for designing the software architecture of our autonomous air defense systems, turning guidance, navigation, and control algorithms into robust, production-grade software that runs reliably on real hardware in mission-critical environments

Your roadmap to make an impact

Own the software architecture of our autonomous systems, defining how components, modules, and onboard software fit together from sensor input to effector output

Take algorithms developed by our GNC and autonomy specialists and embed them into robust, real-time capable software built on ROS 2, C++, and Python

Define interfaces, module boundaries, and architectural standards so embedded, GNC, and ground system teams can build, integrate, and evolve safely

Drive quality from design to delivery, through testing, integration, and deployment on hardware, and raise engineering standards through design reviews, code review, and mentoring (including occasional lab or field support)

We care more about strong software engineers than checkbox perfection. If you meet most of these and are motivated to grow into the rest, please still apply and tell us where you are strong and where you would ramp up.

Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, plus 5+ years of professional software development.
Proven experience designing and owning complex software architectures, from system decomposition to interface and module design
Strong C++ skills for performance-critical and real-time software
Strong Python skills for integration, tooling, and prototyping
Hands-on experience with ROS 2 (nodes, topics, services, actions) and building robotic software on top of it
Solid Linux experience, including development, debugging, and deployment on Linux-based systems
Experience integrating algorithms from domain experts (e.g. control, estimation, perception) into maintainable production software. You won't design the algorithms, you'll make them run reliably

Strong software craftsmanship: clear architectural documentation, testing, code review, and the ability to explain technical decisions to engineers across disciplines.
Ownership mindset, you take responsibility for the architecture end to end and follow problems across component boundaries until they're solved

Experience with software delivery: build systems, packaging, release management, and deployment to target hardware
Familiarity with MAVLink, PX4, ArduPilot, or similar vehicle/autopilot frameworks
Prior work in robotics, autonomous systems, aerospace, defense, or industrial control software

Build technology with real operational impact: Develop autonomous defence systems designed to protect lives and strengthen Europe’s security
Shape scalable defence capabilities: Work on solutions built for mass deployment, cost efficiency, resilience, and reliable production at scale
Contribute to networked air defence: Help integrate our systems into multi-layered defence architectures alongside sensors, command systems, and effectors
Develop for real-world operations: Build capabilities together with end users and improve them continuously based on direct operational feedback
Move fast and take ownership: Work in a focused, high-performance team where decisions are made quickly and individual contributions have immediate impact
Define a new generation of defence technology: Join early and help shape the products, engineering standards, culture, and direction of a fast-growing deep-tech company
Work with an international mission-driven team: Collaborate with experienced specialists united by the goal of creating sovereign and effective security capabilities for Europe

Virtual stock options: Participate in our success through Virtual stock options (VSOPs) at the company's current valuation
Monthly allowances: €106/month in flexible benefits including lunch discounts and EGYM Wellpass or shopping credit
Regular health care events: Health check-ups, skin screenings, mental health workshops, and an annual vitamin infusion on us
Referral bonus: Earn a reward when someone you refer joins the team
Regular team events: On- and off-site activities to connect and celebrate together
Corporate discounts: Exclusive employee discounts across a wide range of partner brands
Flexibility : Flexible working hours and hybrid work model, plus a modern Munich office built for focus and collaboration

At TYTAN, it is more than just a job; it is about embracing autonomy, personal growth, and purpose. Make a lasting impact in the new era of defense! Join us to create a safer world for all.
