Über diese Stelle

Chemical Engineer

We are looking for a Chemical Engineer to develop and improve the propellants and laboratory capability behind our solid rocket propulsion systems. You will combine practical laboratory work with engineering judgement, working on formulation, preparation, characterisation, incoming-material inspection, and the scale-up of propellant solutions from laboratory experiments to propulsion hardware.

About us

We’re a Germany-based rocketry startup currently in stealth mode, scaling up rapidly to meet the demand for high-performance, reliable, and scalable solid propulsion technologies for space and defense applications.

We are already launching suborbital and ballistic rockets on a regular basis, generating significant revenue and applying our knowledge toward the development of an orbital rocket.

We are working hard to build something truly spectacular.

To thrive here you will need to be comfortable working at pace, with the autonomy to make decisions and execute on them quickly. If you’re excited by hard technical challenges and want a role where you will make a real difference each day to the future of the company, we may be the place for you.

Key responsibilities

Develop, formulate, prepare, and improve solid propellants for different propulsion requirements.

Plan and conduct laboratory experiments, characterise materials, and document results clearly.

Work with propulsion engineers to connect formulation, processing, material properties, and motor performance.

Support incoming-goods inspection, supplier engagement, and the evaluation of specialist chemicals and raw materials.

Investigate unexpected results, non-conformances, processing issues, and material compatibility questions.

Improve laboratory procedures, equipment capability, data quality, safety, and the scale-up of successful formulations.

What we are looking for

A degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, polymer science, energetic materials, or a related field.
Hands-on laboratory or process-development experience for solid propellants.
Strong understanding of chemistry, materials behaviour, experimental design, and laboratory safety.
A careful and methodical approach to traceability, measurement quality, process control, and documentation.
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to investigate unexpected results.
The ability to work collaboratively with propulsion, test, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams.

Desirable experience

Solid rocket propellants, binders, oxidisers, metallic fuels, catalysts, or energetic materials.
Propellant characterisation, burn-rate measurement, thermal analysis, rheology, mechanical testing, ageing, or compatibility.
Scaling a formulation or laboratory process toward repeatable production.
Incoming-material inspection, chemical quality control, supplier qualification, or non-conformance investigation.
Hazardous chemicals, explosives, or regulated laboratory processes.
Laboratory data systems, statistical analysis, or Python-based data processing.

Benefits and important information:

We offer top-decile compensation packages, bonuses and meaningful equity, to attract exceptional aerospace talent.
Every employee is awarded stock options in the company, you will directly benefit from your own hard work and success.
Comprehensive relocation support including flights, shipping and visas.
Lunch, dinner and drinks provided everyday
Free access to shared company housing

Please note, we are a fast paced, hyper-scaling startup. You will need to be comfortable working extended hours with high levels of autonomy, ownership, and flexibility, with contracts structured around a 48-hour working week.

We are committed to building an equitable and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, has equal access to opportunity, and can thrive. We welcome different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences—and believe our differences make us stronger.
