Course Structure & Time Commitment

• Course Delivery: UMGC in Europe and UMGC in Asia offer courses in a variety of instructional formats, including face-to-face instruction, online (asynchronous and/or synchronous), hybrid, and live-streaming, depending on the location and academic program.
• Term Length: Most courses are delivered in accelerated 8-week sessions.
• Class Size: Enrollment varies by course and location.
• Teaching Commitment: The adjunct faculty role requires a substantial commitment throughout the term focusing not only on academic success but also the social, personal, and professional growth of students.

Your profile

Applicants must have and be able to maintain their own legal status in the country in which they apply to teach. Some teaching locations may not be accessible by public transportation. Candidates must be able to reliably travel to assigned work locations and perform on-site responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: A master's degree in Sociology, Behavioral Sciences, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Relevant academic and/or professional experience in the field.
• Legal Status: Applicants must have and be able to maintain their own legal status in the country in which they apply to teach.
• The Mindset: A deeply student-centered approach rooted in empathy, flexibility, professional integrity, and cultural responsiveness.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching adult learners online asynchronous and/or synchronous), hybrid, and/or face-to-face learning environments.
• Prior postsecondary teaching experience.
• Active engagement in your discipline's professional community.

PhD: Step 1 $931 - Step 16 $1,215 per credit hour
