Project Manager - Propulsion

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning and delivery of complex propulsion projects. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and drive projects from requirements definition through design, manufacture, testing, qualification, and delivery.

This role is suited to someone with proven experience delivering projects in defence, space, rocketry, missile programmes, or another technically demanding aerospace environment. You will work closely with propulsion, chemistry, manufacturing, test, systems, quality, and operations teams to deliver reliable hardware safely and efficiently.

We’re a Germany-based rocketry startup currently in stealth mode, scaling up rapidly to meet the demand for high-performance, reliable, and scalable solid propulsion technologies for space and defence applications.

We are already launching suborbital and ballistic rockets on a regular basis, generating significant revenue and applying our knowledge toward the development of an orbital rocket.

Key responsibilities

• Own propulsion projects from initial requirements through design, manufacture, testing, qualification, and delivery.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans covering scope, schedule, resources, dependencies, and milestones.
• Coordinate teams across propulsion, chemistry, manufacturing, testing, systems, quality, procurement, and operations.
• Manage project risks, technical issues, interfaces, decisions, actions, and changes.
• Facilitate design reviews, readiness reviews, project reviews, and other programme gates.
• Provide clear project reporting and help improve project-management processes as the company grows.

What we are looking for

• Proven experience managing and delivering complex projects in defence, space, rocketry, missile programmes, aerospace, or a similar engineering environment.
• Experience taking projects from requirements or concept definition through development, testing, qualification, and delivery.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams and managing cross-functional interfaces.
• Strong skills in project planning, schedule management, risk management, dependency tracking, and delivery control.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bring structure to ambiguous or fast-changing situations.
• A degree in engineering, science, project management, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience may also be relevant.

Desirable experience

• Managing propulsion projects, solid rocket motor development, or other complex aerospace hardware programmes.
• Static-fire testing, flight qualification, launch campaigns, or other high-consequence test activities.
• Missile, defence, spacecraft, launch-vehicle, or other regulated programme delivery.
• Taking hardware from development into repeatable manufacture, production, or operational deployment.
• Systems engineering, configuration management, verification and validation, or qualification processes.
• Explosives licensing, range safety, hazardous-materials controls, or supplier and subcontractor management.

Please note, we are a fast paced, hyper-scaling startup. You will need to be comfortable working extended hours with high levels of autonomy, ownership, and flexibility, with contracts structured around a 48-hour working week.
